The Blessing of a Large Family

Wow, you have your hands full!!! Says almost every stranger I meet. Yes, and if you think my hands are full you should see my heart! :)

Children are a blessing, my children are a blessing. It is hard, very hard. It is a sacrifice, a big sacrifice. Homeschooling and keeping the home take up most of my day but it is what I was created to do. I praise the Lord that He saw fit to give us 8 wonderful children. And now I look to Him daily to train up these little souls for Him. My utmost desire is for them to love and serve the Lord with all their hearts!

We have been getting some schoolwork done. Still trying to really settle in here. It still does not feel like home and I am often homesick for Nebraska. I miss our family & church family. We are not sure about our future. Troy would love to have his own business day cabbing trucks for farmers and that is not an option down here. We are exploring other work at home businesses that we could do here. Just not sure right now but really praying.

We are in the middle of a house remodel. We had wood laminate in our dining and kitchen and it is not happy with the amount of water that somehow ends up on it. So it was getting quickly ruined. Also our kitchen sink had a hole in it and we had to replace that which is leading to cabinets being replaced because trailer cabinets are too small. Not to mention the renters had let the water leak under the sink and caused mold and it's just gross, ugh. Also our stove broke, we had been limping that thing along for quite awhile, even bungeeing the stove door shut. I was a little happy when it quit for good (shhh don't tell). So onto craigslist to look for a stove with convection that was cheap. Found one $100, a slide in. Well we are re-doing the cabinet bases along one wall and need new counter tops so we can make that work! Ended up getting it for free because it has a crack in the glass top. It still works and it is cracked in a back burner so yeah! Anyway, it is a process. I just want to get settled and it seems to be taking a lot longer than I thought.

So, there are a few things going on with us lately. My daughter has started a blog and I have been letting her do the majority of posting for our family. If anyone is interested you can go to www.Ashley-funfarmgirl.blogspot.com She does a really good job at keeping up with things better than I do. I will however post before and after pictures when we get things done. Maybe some in progress?
